The quick version
- 30th Celebration launched worldwide on September 16, 2026, the first Pokémon TCG expansion to release on one date everywhere. Every card is foil, each pack holds five foil cards plus a foil Basic Energy, and every pack has one of 30 Pikachu.
- There is no booster box in the international release (Japan's edition does ship as a booster box). Packs only come inside products, from a 2-pack Knock Out Collection up to the 30-pack Ultra-Premium Collections.
- Products arrive in five waves: September 16, October 2, October 30, November 6, and December 4.
- The most hyped boxes are the Day and Night Ultra-Premium Collections (the only place to get the Classic Collection pack and the Pikachu ex promos), the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box (11 packs and two Nidorina promos, one with the Pokémon Center stamp), and, for plain pack count, the Elite Trainer Box and Booster Bundle.
- For the set itself, pull rates, chase cards, all 30 Pikachu, and a filterable card list, read our 30th Celebration set guide.

The Pokémon TCG turned 30 this year, and 30th Celebration is the commemorative expansion. It works differently from a normal set: the cards only exist inside a lineup of special products, and those products roll out over four months. This guide lists every product in the international (English) release, what is inside each one, when it ships, and which ones collectors, players, and investors are actually chasing.

What is 30th Celebration, in one minute?
Per The Pokémon Company, 30th Celebration is a special expansion where every card is foil, including the Basic Energy cards. Each booster pack contains five foil cards, one of which is always a Pikachu rare card from a subset of 30 different Pikachu illustrations, plus one foil Basic Energy. The set introduces a new rarity, the Futuristic rare, illustrated by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN (Mewtwo ex and Mew ex), and it brings back 30 classic cards from the game's history as a golden-bordered Classic Collection, from Base Set Charizard to Pikachu & Zekrom-GX. Those reprints are not legal in the Standard format.
The set's artwork runs on a day and night theme, which is why several products come in matched pairs (Espeon for day, Umbreon for night; Sylveon and Greninja; Mew and Mewtwo). If you want the card-level detail, the set guide covers the numbering, pull rates, and every card.

Dates and contents are from The Pokémon Company's product showcase and press release. *The 2-Pack Blister appears in retailer and distributor listings but not in the official showcase, so we list it with that caveat. Distributor listings also show Sylveon ex and Greninja ex tins for December; they are not in the official showcase yet, so we are not describing their contents until they are confirmed.
Why there is no booster box, and what to buy instead
This is the single most important thing to understand about the release. The Pokémon Company's own product notes say 30th Celebration booster packs "will only be available in products such as the ones below." In the international release there is no 36-pack booster box and no loose-pack SKU. Every pack you open came out of one of the products in the table above. (Japan's edition is different: it ships as a conventional booster box with six-card packs, which is why you will see Japanese boxes on the secondary market.)
If your goal is packs, rank the products by pack count and by what else is in the box:
-
Most packs in one product: Ultra-Premium Collection (29 packs plus the Classic Collection pack), then the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box (11), the Elite Trainer Box (9), and the Ditto Premium Collection (8).
-
Packs with nothing else attached: the Booster Bundle (6 packs). It is the closest thing to a loose-pack product in this lineup.
-
Packs plus a promo you actually want: the ex Boxes (4 packs), the Poster Collection (3 packs and three Legendary bird promos), and the Tech Sticker Collections (3 packs).
-
Cheapest way to open two packs: the Knock Out Collection or a Mini Tin.
Prices and availability move constantly, so we do not print them here. Every product name below links to its live page, and the "Shop 30th Celebration" section at the end has the full list.
Wave 1: September 16, 2026
Elite Trainer Box

The 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box is the standard-issue way into the set: nine booster packs, a full-art Nidorina promo card, 65 card sleeves, 16 foil Basic Energy cards, damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, a plastic coin, a storage box with six dividers, and a player's guide for building a deck from the expansion. Nine packs is the second-highest pack count you can get without going to the Ultra-Premium Collection.
Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box

The Pokémon Center version has everything in the standard box, including the regular Nidorina promo, plus two more packs (11 total) and a second Nidorina promo with the same art and the Pokémon Center stamp. It is a Pokémon Center exclusive, which is exactly why collectors chase it: the stamped promo only exists in this box. We do not carry it; it is listed here so the lineup is complete.
Pokémon ex Box: Sylveon ex and Greninja ex

Two boxes, one for day and one for night. The 30th Celebration Sylveon ex Box and the 30th Celebration Greninja ex Box each hold four booster packs, a foil promo of the named Pokémon ex, and an oversize version of the same card. Both promos are playable ex cards, which makes these the natural pick for players who want a usable attacker along with their packs.

Poster Collection

The 30th Celebration Poster Collection is three booster packs, three foil promos (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, the Kanto Legendary birds), and a full-size two-sided poster showing over 160 cards from the expansion. Three promos for three packs is the best promo-to-pack ratio in the lineup.
Tech Sticker Collection: Alolan Exeggutor and Lucario

Each Tech Sticker Collection has three booster packs, a foil promo card, and a sticker sheet of the same Pokémon for laptops and tablets. The two versions are 30th Celebration Tech Sticker Collection (Alolan Exeggutor) (the sunny-day one) and 30th Celebration Tech Sticker Collection (Lucario) (the nocturnal one).

Knock Out Collection

The 30th Celebration Knock Out Collection is the entry-level product: two booster packs, a foil Eevee card, and a plastic coin. One detail worth knowing: the Eevee is card 116/128 from the main set rather than a black-star promo, and this product (along with the 2-Pack Blister) is where that particular Eevee comes from.
Wave 2: October 2, 2026
Booster Bundle

Six booster packs, nothing else. The 30th Celebration Booster Bundle is the product to buy when you just want packs, and because there is no booster box, it is the closest the international release gets to one. Expect it to be the most contested product of the second wave for exactly that reason.
Mini Tins

Ten tin designs, each with two booster packs, a sticker sheet, and an art card matching the tin. The ten artworks combine into two larger images, one for day and one for night, so completionists will want all ten. The 30th Celebration Mini Tin page lists the designs we carry: Day Pikachu, Night Pikachu, Espeon, Umbreon, Mew, Mewtwo, Lapras, Greninja, Moltres, and Zapdos.
Wave 3: October 30, 2026
Battle Deck: Espeon ex and Umbreon ex

Two ready-to-play 60-card decks, every card foil, led by Espeon ex (day) or Umbreon ex (night). Each comes with a deck box, coin, and playmat. The Espeon deck includes an illustration rare-style Victini and the Umbreon deck an illustration rare-style Zeraora. These are the only products in the lineup with no booster packs, and the only ones aimed squarely at players who want to sit down and battle.
Wave 4: November 6, 2026
Ultra-Premium Collection: Day and Night

The flagship. Each Ultra-Premium Collection has 29 booster packs plus one 30th Celebration Classic Collection booster pack containing three cards from the Classic Collection, two foil promos (Pikachu ex and Espeon ex in the Day box, Pikachu ex and Umbreon ex in the Night box), a playmat, card sleeves, a deck box, and other accessories. The Classic Collection pack is only available in this product, and the four promos are unique to it, which is why it sits at the top of every collector's list.
Ditto Premium Collection

Eight booster packs, a Ditto promo card, and a colorful acrylic display that can hold the promo or any card you pull. At eight packs it is the third-highest pack count in the lineup after the Ultra-Premium Collection and the two Elite Trainer Boxes.
Figure Collection: Mew and Mewtwo

Sold as two separate products. Each has a foil promo card and an oversize card of Mew or Mewtwo, a sculpted figure of that Pokémon, and five booster packs. The figures are produced by Kaiyodo (the Mew sculpted by Taro Murai, the Mewtwo by Daichi F Sugimoto), which is the detail that makes these more than a promo box for figure collectors.
Wave 5: December 4, 2026
Binder Collection

A 9-pocket binder in the 30th anniversary artwork plus five booster packs. Practical rather than glamorous, and a sensible home for a Pikachu subset or a Classic Collection.
Which products are the most hyped, and why
Hype is not one thing. Collectors, players, and investors want different boxes for different reasons, so here is the honest split.
For collectors
-
Ultra-Premium Collection (Day and Night). The only source of the Classic Collection pack and of four exclusive ex promos, plus 29 regular packs. If you buy one premium product from this set, it is this one, and the day/night pairing means many collectors will want both.
-
Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box. The stamped Nidorina promo exists nowhere else, and Pokémon Center exclusives have a long track record of holding collector interest after the standard version fades.
-
Mini Tins, all ten. The two composite day and night images only appear when you have the full set of tins and art cards.
-
Figure Collections. Kaiyodo sculpts of Mew and Mewtwo with an oversize card are a display piece first and a pack product second.
For players
-
Battle Decks. Ready to play, entirely foil, and the cheapest way to get Espeon ex or Umbreon ex on a table.
-
Pokémon ex Boxes. Sylveon ex and Greninja ex are usable attackers, and four packs come along for the ride.
-
Elite Trainer Box or Booster Bundle for pack volume when you are hunting the set's ex cards. Remember that the Classic Collection reprints are not Standard-legal, so the nostalgia cards are for the binder, not the deck.
For investors
Two structural facts shape this set's sealed market. First, the pull rates are the friendliest of the modern era (our set guide has the numbers), which keeps singles cheap and plentiful. That means sealed value does not come from chase-card expected value the way it does in a set like Phantasmal Flames and its Mega Charizard X ex. Second, there is no booster box, so pack supply is capped by product allocations rather than case counts, and each product carries an exclusive promo or accessory that packs alone cannot replace.
Put those together and the products with real scarcity are the ones with exclusives: the Ultra-Premium Collections, the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, and to a lesser degree the Figure Collections. Reading our Market Insights page for 30th Celebration in late September, the two Ultra-Premium Collections and the Pokémon Center box are the products the secondary market is bidding up hardest ahead of release, the standard Elite Trainer Box has been flat to slightly softer since launch week, the Booster Bundle and Binder Collection have climbed over the month as pre-orders, and the ex Boxes and Mini Tins moved up over the last week. Treat all of that as a snapshot: several of these products have not shipped yet, so the early prices are pre-order prices, and they will move. We track them nightly, so check the live page rather than this paragraph.
The honest caveat
Because every pack has a guaranteed Pikachu and the illustration rares fall often, a lot of the fun in this set is in opening it, not in flipping it. If you want a specific card, buy the single. If you want the experience and the exclusives, buy the product that carries them. Do not buy an Elite Trainer Box expecting Phantasmal Flames-style chase math; that is not how this set was built.
How TCGGuy is handling 30th Celebration
We opened pre-orders for the first wave ahead of September 16 and will list each later wave as our distributor confirms allocations. Pre-orders ship on or after each product's release date, and the Pre-orders collection always shows what is currently open. Products we do not carry (the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, for example) are in this guide so the picture is complete, not because we sell them.
Bottom line: the Ultra-Premium Collections and the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box are the collector pieces, the Battle Decks and ex Boxes are the player pieces, and the Elite Trainer Box and Booster Bundle are the pack pieces. Everything else is a matter of which promo you like. There is no booster box, so plan around products, not cases.
